EUTHANASIA
There is no time more difficult than saying goodbye to a loved one. Here at Andover Animal Hospital, we strive to inform and support you and your family through this painful time. If you are unsure of your decision to euthanize your pet, our veterinary staff will perform an assessment to assist you in this most difficult decision.
Process:
We provide a gentle means of allowing your beloved pet to pass without pain or stress. We always first administer a sedative medication to help make it a more comfortable and kind passing, followed by a medication that helps your pet pass away peacefully.
AfterCare:
Group cremation is where your pet is cremated with other family pets, and no ashes are returned to you.
If you choose individual cremation, your pet is cremated separately, and the ashes are then returned to you. It usually takes two weeks for ashes to be returned.
We offer a memorial fur clipping of your loved pet as a remembrance if you choose. This is offered to you at no charge as our gratitude to you for entrusting us in the care of your pet. Clay paw prints are available by request for a small fee.
Burial:
If you choose to bury your pet at your home or elsewhere, please refer to your local and city ordinances, laws, and regulations that may apply to you.
